Tom Ford’s Fox Terriers

Last night I began watching A Single Man on netflix, completely unaware that it features not one, but two smooth fox terriers. Since the movie has been out longer than I’ve been writing this blog, I became indignant. How has no one tipped me off yet? Readers! Do better next time, please!

A Single Man is the story of a gay character (Colin Firth) mourning a lost lover in the stylish 60’s. Director Tom Ford (also gay) adapted the screen play from a novel by Christopher Isherwood. I was enjoying the somewhat dour, depressive, yet elegantly styled film, when this little guy (on the left) enters the frame opposite Firth (right), causing me to pause the whole heartfelt moment and take up a google tangent to find out who he is and how he got there.

They’re Calling it February Fury

New Yorker peoples. We are not pleased. It’s 8 am and normally we are in Prospect Park for off leash hours. But here we are at the computer. There is some sort of snow/rain/slush mix coming down and a winter storm advisory. This has totally ruined our Thursday and our attempt at weight loss.

As we mentioned earlier, watching the models of Westminster made us feel fat. We are sad to report that spending too much time inside this week eating bones did not slim us down. So we do not have the after pics of what was supposed to be a hot hot before-and-after series.

Instead of posting our fat butt again, we bring you our favorite page from The New Fox Terriers by Harold Nedell. This man may call them “hindquarters,” but to us it’s just gratuitous ass.

Photo Op: A Flickr Full of Foxy Fox Terriers

While we may primarily be a writing dog, we appreciate photography too and like to peruse Flickr. So when we stumbled across Karen’s breathtaking Fox Terrier Flickr slideshow, our jaw fell open and we dropped our bone.

Thunk.

They were running at full burst then suddenly stopped. Featuring Snip, Roxy and Rimu.

Karen is  an emergency and critical care veterinarian for dogs and cats. She lives in Australia. We’re not sure how many smooth fox terriers she has, or how they got so pretty, but we thank her for sharing.

Waching Westminster: The Kate Moss Effect

Hello READERS!

We may not have been posting for the last two days, but we have been reading about Owners antics. And we are not pleased. All those show dogs (models!) are so pretty and skinny and we’ve been laying around the crate with a box of milkbones. Well no more. Swim suit season is coming, we are single, and it is time to bring the hotness. The Raleigh Pop Diet starts today. Because we like public humiliation, Sarah Ferguson-style, we are posting before and after photos. See more of our fat ass after the jump.

Live @ Westminster: Congratulations Foxtrot Delightful J’Cobe Kemosabe Vigilante Justice

We have confirmation. The name of the smooth coat fox terrier that won Best of Breed at the 2010 Westminster Dog Show is Foxtrot Delightful. I was moved by the win because the Handler cried a little. You can see some smudgey mascara, and one cute bitch dog, below.

Live @ Westminster: Day 2 — First Foxies!

It is the second day of my all-out Westminster coverage. I am not going to lie. I felt terrible walking into Madison Square Garden today. Whatever fresh air was available backstage yesterday has been destroyed by the slowly fermenting smell of piss in the doggie restroom area (yah, its like wood chips on the floor inside and poorly ventilated). I just wanted to call in sick with kennel cough, take a shower, and go back to bed.
